Chaman General Store

Chaman General Store is located at B-4/2270 on Daresi Road. We are right by the Daresi Ground and not too far from the Purani Sabzi Mandi. Being near the old vegetable market means it’s always busy around here. You can smell the fresh produce in the early mornings. I open the shop early, just as the sun is coming up over the buildings. The ground gets a lot of people for morning walks and local events. We sell everything a normal house might need on a daily basis. I’ve got snacks, pulses, soaps, and even some hardware items if you look closely at the back. The shop is quite old and the walls have some cracks, but it’s sturdy enough. I’ve been behind this counter for over twenty years. Ludhiana is a city that never really stops moving. My father started this place and I just kept it going for the family. We have a lot of old customers who have been coming since they were children. Now they bring their own kids to buy sweets. It makes me feel a bit old but it’s nice to see them. The floor is made of stone and stays cool in summer. I have a big ledger where I keep track of things manually. Sometimes the traffic on Daresi Road is so bad that the delivery trucks can't get to the door. We just have to carry the boxes in.
