Boby Karyana Store is located at 34-B in Industrial Area A, Ludhiana. Being in the extension part of the industrial area means we are surrounded by a lot of factories and workshops. It’s a gritty part of town, always full of trucks and the sound of machinery. Our store provides the basics for the workers and the few families who live around this section. We keep a lot of bulk items because people here often buy in larger quantities. You will see big sacks of flour and large containers of oil taking up most of the floor space. The windows are usually a bit grimy from the soot in the air, but we try to keep the inside as tidy as possible. It’s a no-nonsense kind of place. We don’t have fancy signs or any kind of promotional posters. People come here because we are right where they work or live. We spend our time unloading supplies and helping customers find what they need in the middle of all the stacks. The heat in the summer can be quite intense inside the shop, so we usually have a small table fan running near the stool where we sit. It isn’t a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We know the truck drivers and the local laborers by name, and they know they can get their daily supplies here without any trouble or waste of time.
