Bhola Bhandari Karyana Store

Our shop is in Ludhiana Central, over in Phase IV. It’s a traditional karyana store, so we deal with all the daily kitchen essentials. The air inside always smells like a mix of spices, open sacks of rice, and tea leaves. We spend our day weighing out items and packing them into brown paper bags. It’s a family business, and you’ll often see one of the younger ones helping out after school. We have big jars of candy near the front for the kids who come in with their parents. Phase IV is a residential area, so we know most of our customers by their first names. We don't have any self-checkout lanes or fancy lighting. It’s just shelves reaching up to the ceiling and a wooden counter that’s seen better days. We get our supplies from the main markets early in the morning. Sometimes we run out of something popular and have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s a busy, noisy little place, but it’s where the local news gets shared while people wait for their flour to be weighed. We just keep doing what we’ve been doing for years, providing the basic stuff that every house needs to keep the kitchen running.
