Bagly General Stores

We have been running Bagly General Stores here in Old Sangavi for quite a few years now. It is a simple place located in Ludhiana where we keep all the basic things a household might need during the week. Our shop isn't very large, so we have to make use of every inch of shelf space we have. You will often find crates stacked up near the entrance because the delivery truck comes early and we haven't had time to move everything to the back yet. It gets pretty busy around here in the mornings when people are heading off to work and need to grab something quickly. We try to keep things like soap, lentils, and cooking oil right where they are easy to reach for everyone. The floor is just plain cement and it shows a lot of wear and tear from everyone walking through all day long. Ludhiana can get very hot in the summer, so we usually have a small fan blowing behind the counter to stay cool while we are working. We don't use any fancy systems, just a paper ledger and a small calculator to keep track of the daily sales. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to talk for a bit while they wait for their groceries to be packed up. We know most people around here by their first names. It is a lot of work and our backs usually ache by the time we lock up at night. We just do our job and keep the shelves as full as we can.
