Bablu Guddu Karyana Store

Bablu Guddu Karyana Store is tucked away at 738/4 in Manna Singh Nagar. We are right there in the Chowki Mohalla area of Ludhiana, which is a pretty lively spot to be in. The shop is named after the family, so it’s a personal thing for us. It’s a typical karyana store where you’ll find sacks of lentils, bags of flour, and all those little things you realize you’ve run out of while cooking dinner. The space is small and we’ve filled every inch of the walls with shelves right up to the ceiling. Sometimes it’s a struggle to find the ladder just to get a packet of tea for someone. We start early in the morning because that’s when people come out for their daily needs. There is usually a bit of dust from the road and the sound of scooters passing by constantly. We don’t really do any big advertising or anything like that, we just rely on the people living nearby who know us by name. It’s a bit of a juggle sometimes, handling the cash and weighing out the grains while three people are asking for different things at once. But we’ve been doing this for a long time now. It’s just how we spend our time, making sure the neighborhood has what they need without making a big fuss about it.
