Ashok Karyana Stores

Our store, Ashok Karyana Stores, is located right on the main Samrala Road in the Pimple Saudagar area. It is a pretty lively neighborhood, so we see a lot of different people coming through our doors every day. We spend most of our hours weighing out bags of rice, flour, and different types of lentils. The shelves are packed tight with all the basic things a kitchen needs, like spices, cooking oil, and soap. It can get a bit messy when we get a big shipment of sacks in, and we have to stack them up in the corners. There is always the smell of raw grains and spices in the air here. We use an old wooden counter that has been with us for a long time, and we keep track of everything in a simple ledger book. Sometimes a delivery truck blocks the front for a bit, and we have to move fast to get everything inside before the traffic gets too bad on Samrala Road. We do not have any fancy displays or bright neon signs. It is just a regular karyana store where the locals come to get their groceries. We know which families like which brand of tea and who usually forgets to buy salt until the last minute. It is hard work staying on your feet all day, but we are used to the routine.
