Amarjeet Departmental Store

We opened up here in Janta Nagar a good while back and haven't really moved much since. The shop is filled with all sorts of stuff you need for the house, like pulses, soaps, and those snacks the kids always ask for. Usually, the mornings are the busiest because everyone wants their milk and bread before heading to work. We try to keep the shelves stocked, but sometimes things run out faster than we expect, especially when there is a festival coming up. There are a lot of regulars who come in every single day just to grab one or two things and stay to chat for a minute. It gets a bit crowded behind the counter when the delivery guys show up with new crates. The fan on the ceiling makes a bit of noise but it helps in the summer heat. We spend a lot of time organizing the jars and making sure the labels are facing the right way, though it never stays like that for long. It is just a normal place where people from the neighborhood come to get their groceries without any fuss. You can find almost anything for the kitchen if you look long enough through the aisles. Sometimes we move things around to make more room, which confuses the older folks who have been coming here for years. It is a simple life running a store like this in a busy part of town.
