The Dandi Swami Chowk is a landmark that everyone in Ludhiana knows well. Amandeep Store is situated right there on Dandhi Swami Road, which is part of the Civil Lines area. Being so close to the Dandi Swami Mandir means we get a lot of foot traffic, especially during the festival times or on specific days when the temple is crowded. The shop itself is a basic setup. We keep the usual things like snacks, toiletries, and small home goods that people in the 141001 zip code need. It’s a bit of a tight space when more than three people come in at once, but we manage. I usually get here early to open up before the morning rush starts. The traffic at the chowk can get really backed up in the afternoons, so sometimes it’s just the sound of horns all day. We have some wooden shelves that have seen better days, but they hold the stock just fine. Most of our customers are from the neighborhood, people who have been living in Civil Lines for decades. They know where everything is, so they often just walk in and grab what they want. It is a simple life running a store like this. We don’t have any big signs or advertisements. Just the name on the board and the doors open to the street. It’s just us here every day, making sure the milk and bread are fresh for the morning crowd.
