The Gateway Hotel Mangalore

The Gateway Hotel Mangalore is where we spend most of our days. Even though the address on some of our files mentions James Ku Kashyap and a passport number, we are firmly rooted here in the local city scene. Running a hotel in a place like Mangalore means you never really know who is going to walk through the front door. We have businessmen, families on vacation, and people just passing through to the next town. The lobby is usually busy, and there is always a suitcase or two sitting by the desk. We don't use those polished scripts you hear at big international chains. Our staff just talks to people like normal human beings. If a lightbulb goes out or a guest needs an extra towel, we just get it done. It’s a lot of physical work, keeping the rooms clean and the kitchen running on time. Some days the humidity in Mangalore is a bit much, and the air conditioning becomes everyone’s best friend. We like knowing the good local spots for fish curry or where to get a quick repair done. We aren't trying to be something we're not. It’s just a hotel where we try to make sure things work the way they are supposed to. We’ve been here for a while, and the building has its own little quirks that we’ve all grown used to over the years.
