We are right here in Charbagh, and if you know this part of town, you know it never really sleeps. The hotel has been part of this street for a good while now. Most days start pretty early because of the trains coming in. You can hear the rickshaws and the tea sellers shouting outside from dawn. We just try to keep the rooms tidy and make sure the fans are working right for whoever walks in. It isn't anything fancy, just a place to stay when you're passing through. My uncle used to help out here, and now it's mostly us. We see a lot of people coming from the station, carrying heavy bags and looking a bit tired. We mostly spend our time checking the linens and making sure there is water in the tanks. Sometimes the power goes out in the area, but we just deal with it like everyone else does around here. It gets a bit dusty with all the traffic, so there is always someone with a broom in their hand. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how the building works. If you're looking for the spot, we are right where the maps say, among all the other shops and small eateries. It’s just a regular daily routine for us, making sure the keys are where they should be and answering the phone when it rings. We keep a spare set of bulbs in the drawer because they blow out often.
