Out here in Maanak Nagar, specifically near Khushi Vihar, things have changed quite a bit over the years. J K Public School sits on Plot No. 36, and it’s a familiar spot for anyone living around the Kanousi area. Lucknow is big, but this little pocket feels like its own small town sometimes. We deal with the usual city stuff, like the noise from the nearby streets and the occasional stray dog wandering near the entrance. The school isn't some massive campus you'd get lost in. It’s a practical building that uses the space we have. We spend our mornings checking the registers and making sure the classrooms are ready. The courtyard in the middle is where most of the action happens during the break times. It can get loud, but that is to be expected. Parents often stop by for a quick word while they are out running errands or heading to work. We don't use fancy titles much; usually, it’s just first names or 'uncle' and 'aunty' depending on who is talking. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon, but for now, they hold up just fine. We just try to make sure everything is in order so the day goes by without any big issues. It’s a neighborhood place, really, and we are just the people who keep the doors open and the lights on every morning for the local families.
