You can find Himlok Construction LLP over at L-2/761 in Vinay Khand. It’s a nice part of Lucknow, and we’ve been here long enough that the neighbors know our faces. Our office is pretty lived-in. We have blueprints rolled up in corners and samples of tiles and bricks sitting on the shelves. It’s not the most organized place, but we know exactly where everything is. Running a construction LLP involves a lot of back-and-forth between the office and various sites around Uttar Pradesh. We spend a lot of time in the car, navigating the Lucknow traffic, which never seems to get any better. We aren't some massive firm with a thousand employees. We are a small team that likes to get our hands dirty. Sometimes we disagree about how to handle a certain project, but we usually sort it out over some tea. We don't have a mission statement on the wall; we just have a calendar with a lot of deadlines circled in red ink. Building things is complicated and there are always surprises, like a hidden pipe or a delayed permit, but we just take it one day at a time. We live here, we work here, and we just want to do a decent job for the people who hire us. It’s not always pretty, but it’s real work. The office can get a bit loud when we are all in, but that’s just how we get things finished.
