Dyk Construction Private Limited is situated at Plot Khasra No-167 in the Jiyamau area of Lucknow. It is an interesting spot because it is tucked away from the main hustle of the city but still busy in its own way. The office is a straightforward room with a couple of computers and some very tall filing cabinets filled with old records. We deal with a lot of technical drawings and daily site reports. The floor usually has a bit of dust on it because people are constantly coming in from the field with their boots on. We do not mind the mess much; it is just part of being in this industry. There is a small window that looks out toward the street, where we can see the daily life of Jiyamau passing by. We drink a lot of water throughout the day because the humidity in Lucknow can be quite heavy. Our team is small, and we have all worked together for a long time, so there is no need for formal talk. We do not use expensive software for everything; sometimes a simple pencil and a wooden ruler are still the most reliable tools we have. We try to start our work early in the morning to get things done before the afternoon heat becomes too much to handle. By the time evening comes, the office is usually quiet, with just the sound of the overhead fan spinning.
