Our office is tucked away at 2/100 Vivek Khand in Lucknow. It’s a pretty standard spot in a residential-feeling area, which makes coming to work every day feel a bit more relaxed than being in a high-rise. Awani Jiwan Infra Private Limited is basically just us sitting around these desks, trying to make sense of the latest infrastructure plans. We have a couple of old fans that hum in the background and a big map of the local area pinned to the wall. It’s nothing like those big offices you see in movies. We deal with real estate and building stuff, so our shoes are usually a bit dusty from visiting sites. People walk in and out, mostly folks we’ve known for years. We don’t have a receptionist in a suit; usually, whoever is closest to the door just says hello. The neighborhood is quiet enough that you can actually hear yourself think, which helps when we’re looking at complicated contracts. We’ve been part of the Lucknow business scene for a while now, and we’ve seen the city change a lot from our little corner of Vivek Khand. Most days are just about checking on progress and making sure the workers have what they need. It’s a simple setup, but it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We’re just regular people trying to do a decent job with the projects we take on in this part of Uttar Pradesh.
