This company is owned and run by the farmers of this village. We are not a big city corporation. We are just neighbors working together. Halaharvi is a place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We started this because we wanted to have more control over how we sell our grain and cotton. It is hard to do everything alone, so we joined up. The office is just a simple place where we gather to talk about the season. You will usually find a few of us there drinking tea and looking at the ledgers. We do not use fancy English or have big presentations. We just talk about the rain and the prices. Sometimes we argue about the best way to do things, but we always figure it out. It is a bit disorganized at times, but that is just how it is when you have so many people involved. We care about our land and our families. That is why we do this. We are not looking to become famous or huge. We just want to make sure the farmers in Halaharvi get a fair deal for their sweat and toil. It is a plain and simple life we lead here. Every day brings a new challenge but we face it together.
