Govindsagar Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group, Govindsagar Farmers Producer Company Limited, is located in Village Talipo, specifically in the Zakatkhana area under Naina Devi tehsil. We operate out of Roop Lal’s house, which is House Number 00. It sounds a bit strange to have a zero for a house number, but that's how it's registered here. We are basically a bunch of farmers who decided to get together to make things easier for everyone in our village. It's hard to do everything alone when you’re farming, so we pooled our resources. We don't have a fancy storefront. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find us in the fields or stop by the house in the evening. Life in Naina Devi is mostly about the land and the seasons. We grow what we can and try to sell it for a fair price. Being a Producer Company just means we’re official now, but we are the same people who have lived here for generations. We help each other with seeds and tools. Sometimes the harvest is good, sometimes it isn't. We don’t have a big mission statement or anything. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of and the village stays productive. It’s honest work. If you’re passing through Zakatkhana, you’ll see us working. We’re just regular neighbors trying to do better by working together instead of fighting the market alone. It is a long process but we keep at it every single day.
