Dada Sibba Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our company is called Dada Sibba Farmers Producer Company Limited. We operate out of Dharmshala in the Bharwain area of Una district. You can find us through Dev Raj Mahanta, who helps keep everything organized for the group. We are a collection of farmers from this part of Himachal Pradesh. Our area is a bit different from the high mountains, but we still face our own set of challenges with the soil and the water. We formed this company to give us a bit more power when we buy supplies or sell our crops. It’s hard to make a profit when you’re just one person with a small plot of land. We mostly deal with the crops that grow well in the Una heat. We aren't some big business with a city office. Our meetings happen in local rooms or under a tree sometimes. It’s all very practical and down to earth. We talk about seeds, fertilizers, and who has a tractor available to help out. It’s a community effort more than a business in the traditional sense. We want to see our local farmers do better. We’ve all seen how hard it is to get a fair price, so we’re trying to change that slowly. It’s a work in progress. We don't have everything figured out yet, but we’re learning as we go. We’re just folks from Bharwain trying to help each other out. We take it one season at a time and see how things go for everyone.
