Sri Ushodaya Public School

Our school is tucked away in Lakshmipuram Colony, which is part of the Poranki area in Vijayawada. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it feels quite safe and familiar for the families around here. We have a gate that opens up to the main walkway leading into the classrooms. The building is a bit older, but we do our best to keep the paint fresh and the floors swept. I’ve been working here for a few years, and you get used to the rhythm of the bells and the kids moving between rooms. We have a small staff room where we sit during breaks to have tea and talk about the day. It’s not a very complicated operation. We have desks, blackboards, and a lot of notebooks. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just open the windows to let the breeze in from the colony trees. Most of the students walk here from the nearby houses. We know which kids are brothers and sisters, and we know their parents from the local market. It feels more like a big house than a big institution. We don't have any flashy signs or anything. Just the name on the wall and the sounds of people learning. We spend a lot of time checking homework and making sure the supplies are stocked up. It’s just a regular local school doing the work every day for the community in Poranki.
