Akshara High School

Akshara High School is found at Plot No 10-248-A45 in Gudivada. Using a plot number for an address tells you a bit about how this area is laid out. It is a residential pocket where things are still developing in some ways. The school fits right into the neighborhood. It is not a massive campus with gates and guards; it is more of a community building where everyone knows their neighbors. The kids arrive on foot or on the backs of their parents' scooters every morning. Inside, the rooms are basic with whiteboards and rows of benches that have seen a lot of use. We don't have a big budget for fancy decorations, so the walls are mostly covered with maps or charts the students made themselves. Gudivada is a place where people value hard work, and we try to reflect that in how we run things. There is no corporate office behind us, just a small group of us making sure the doors are open and the teachers are in their spots by eight o'clock. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows wider and keep going. We don't make big promises about changing the world; we just make sure the students know their math and science before they head home for lunch. It is practical, honest work, and we have been doing it this way for quite some time now, keeping the school part of local life.
