About Government Primary School – Education in Krishna
Gollamandala is a small village in the Krishna district, and our Government Primary School is right in the heart of it. It is a simple place with a few classrooms and a small open space for the children. Most of the kids come from the families living nearby in the village. They walk to school every day, usually wearing their uniforms and carrying small bags. The school building is painted in bright colors to make it look a bit more cheerful. We spend a lot of time focusing on the mid-day meals because that is a big part of the day for the students. You can smell the rice and dal cooking from early in the morning. The kitchen area is quite basic, but it gets the job done. In the classrooms, the teachers use blackboards and chalk, which leaves a white dust on everything by the end of the day. Krishna district can get very humid, so we keep the windows open to catch any breeze we can. The playground is just the dirt ground out front where the children play local games during their breaks. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or computers, just the basics like books and charts on the walls. It is a quiet life here in Gollamandala. We know all the parents and they know us. When the school day ends, the kids run off to their homes and the village returns to its usual pace.
