Svithri Devi Memorial College

Svithri Devi Memorial College is situated in Kalleri, which is part of the Peruvayal area in Kozhikode. It’s a nice, green part of the region, which makes the campus feel a bit more relaxed than those schools right in the middle of the noisy city. We have students coming from all over the district for their classes every day. The college building itself is pretty functional and simple. We have the usual lecture halls, some space for the staff members, and areas where students gather to talk between their sessions. It’s a local college, so there’s a strong sense of community here. Everyone pretty much knows everyone else's face. We aren't a massive university with thousands of people, which we think is better because it’s easier to keep track of everything going on. The road leading up to the college can be a bit narrow for the buses, but people manage to get here. We have our busy times, especially during the admissions and exam weeks, when the whole place feels a bit more stressed than usual. Otherwise, it’s a fairly steady pace of life. We focus on getting the curriculum finished and helping the students prepare for whatever comes next for them. The rain here in Kerala can be very heavy, so we spend a lot of time dealing with wet floors and umbrellas everywhere during the long monsoon season. It’s just a normal, everyday college life for us here in Kalleri. We do our best to keep things organized and helpful for the students who study with us.
