I.U.M.L.P. School

I.U.M.L.P. School is located on Puthiyara Road, right near Arayidathupalam in Kozhikode. It is a lower primary school, so as you can imagine, it gets very loud and energetic during the day. The building is nestled into the local neighborhood, and the street outside is always buzzing with traffic and people going about their business. We have a small courtyard where the children gather for their morning assembly. When the monsoon hits Kozhikode, everything gets a bit damp, and we have to make sure the kids stay dry under the veranda. The classrooms are simple with wooden benches that have seen many generations of students. We don't have high-tech gadgets or fancy facilities. It is just a traditional school where the focus is on the basics. Teachers can often be seen sitting in the staff room grading papers or preparing for the next lesson. There is a small gate at the front where parents drop off their little ones in the morning. It can get a bit chaotic at pick-up time with all the umbrellas and bags. We know most of the families around here because their older children or even the parents themselves went to school in this same area. It’s a very local, community-oriented place. We just try to keep the kids safe and busy with their lessons. The school bell is a familiar sound for everyone living on Puthiyara Road.
