The College Of Applied Science sits right there on the Government Payanthong High School Campus in Nadapuram. It’s a bit of a trek for some of the students coming from further out in Kozhikode, but Kallachi is a central enough spot. The campus has that old school feel to it, with trees and a lot of concrete stairs that have seen a lot of feet over the years. We share the space, so it gets busy during the breaks when everyone spills out into the yard. It’s not one of those modern glass buildings you see in the big cities. It’s just a solid place where people come to learn things that might actually help them find a job later on. The labs are usually full of students trying to get their practicals done before the bells ring. We don’t have any fancy bells and whistles here. It’s more about the lectures and making sure the notes are written down properly. The rain in Kerala can be heavy, and sometimes the roof drums so loud you can’t hear the teacher, but we just keep going. This is a practical kind of place for people who aren't looking for anything flashy. We focus on the books and the experiments. Most of our staff have been here for years, so they know exactly how the system works. It’s just a regular college doing its thing day after day on the school campus.
