Markaz International School

We have a fairly big campus here and it stays busy from early morning until the late afternoon. You can hear the school bell ringing across the neighborhood when classes change. We have kids of all ages here, so the atmosphere changes depending on which part of the school you are in. The younger ones are usually louder and running around the play areas, while the older students are more tucked away in their classrooms. Kozhikode is a busy city and being in Erinjippalam means we are right in the middle of a lot of traffic and activity. Inside the school gates, though, it’s its own little world. We have desks, blackboards, and sports equipment scattered around. It’s not a perfect, polished place like you might see in a brochure. There are scuff marks on the walls and the playground equipment looks well-used because it is. We don't spend much time worrying about looking corporate. We are more concerned with making sure the teachers have what they need and the kids are actually learning something. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know how the place runs. It’s just a regular school doing its best for the local families in the Kozhikode area. We have been part of this community for a while and we see the same faces every day, which makes the whole place feel a bit more like home for the students.
