St Annes Girls H S School

Our school is right by the hospital junction in Kottayam. It’s a busy part of town, especially being so close to the Manorama Junction. We’ve been at this location for a long time, and most people in the area know exactly where we are. Being an all-girls school, we have a specific routine that starts as soon as the gates open. The girls come in from all over the district, some by bus and some walking. It’s quite a sight in the morning with all the uniforms and the constant chatter. The building is an old one, with high ceilings and wide hallways that keep it relatively cool even in the humid weather. We don’t have fancy marketing teams or glossy posters. We just have teachers and staff who’ve been doing this for a long time. Some of our staff used to be students here themselves, which says something about the place. We deal with the usual school stuff—grading papers, supervising the playground, and making sure the bells ring on time. Sometimes the heavy rain in Kottayam makes things a bit messy, but we just carry on with the lessons. It’s a practical environment for everyone. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. It’s just a school where girls come to study and grow up. It can be loud and a bit chaotic at times, but it’s our daily life and we’re quite used to it.
