Mar Makil Public School

Mar Makil Public School is located in Kaipuzha, a village in the Kottayam district with the pincode 686602. We’ve been here for a good number of years now. The school is a familiar place for the families living around Kaipuzha. We have a main building where most of the classes take place and a small yard for the children to play in. The classrooms are basic but they serve their purpose well enough. We have a group of dedicated teachers, many of whom have been with us for a long time. Every morning starts with the assembly, and then we get into the lessons for the day. Kottayam can get very rainy, so we spend a lot of time indoors during the monsoon months. The sound of the rain on the roof is something we’re all used to. We don't have any big corporate backing; we just run the school with the resources we have. Parents are very involved and often come by to chat with the staff or help out with small things. We have a small staff room where we drink tea and discuss the students. It’s a steady, predictable environment where we just focus on the curriculum and the well-being of the kids. We’re glad to be a part of this local community and to see the children grow up and move on to college or jobs.
