If you come down to Uttam Nagar in the Gadepan area of Kota, you will find Sai Seeds. It is actually run out of a house, specifically H. No. C-9/12, which belongs to Surender Kumar Jain. We deal with various types of seeds that the local farmers need for their crops. It is very much a local operation. The front part of the house is where most of the business happens. We have bags of seeds stacked up, and there’s usually someone coming by to ask about the current stock or the prices for the season. Living and working in the same place means the hours are a bit flexible. Sometimes someone knocks late in the evening because they need something for the next morning's planting. Rajasthan's climate keeps us on our toes because the demand changes so much with the weather. We aren't a big industrial supplier with a huge warehouse. It is more about knowing the people in the community and what they are looking for. The CFCL area is quite familiar to everyone around here. We spend a lot of time talking to customers about the soil and which seeds might work better. It’s straightforward work. We don't use any fancy systems, just a ledger and some common sense. The house is always a bit dusty from the seed bags, but that is just part of the job. It feels more like helping out neighbors than running a big company. We are just here.
