Safal Kissan Seed Store

Safal Kissan Seed Store is situated at Aerodrome Circle in the New Sabzimandi, shop number 43. Being near the vegetable market means it is always loud and there is a lot of mud around when it rains. We deal with farmers mostly. They come in early in the morning before they go to their fields. We have bags of seeds piled up against the walls and the smell of the earth and dried grain is always in the air. Sometimes the farmers stay for a long time just to talk about the weather or how the crops are doing this year. We have to keep track of what is in stock because if we run out of something during the sowing season, it's a big problem for everyone. The shop is quite small so we have to use every bit of space we have, even the ceiling hooks. It is a lot of lifting heavy sacks and writing things down in our big ledger books. We don't have fancy computers or anything like that here. We just use a simple calculator and a pen. Most of our day is spent dusty and tired, but that's just how the seed business is. We open up when the market opens and we don't leave until the last customer has gone home. It's a plain life but it keeps us busy and connected to the land around here.
