India Seeds

India Seeds is located at Dhanmandi 25 A. Since we are in the grain market, there are always birds flying around trying to pick up leftovers. The shop is basically a large room filled with different types of seeds in bags and containers. We spend our mornings checking the inventory and making sure nothing is getting spoiled by the damp. The air in Dhanmandi is always thick with the smell of spices and grains from the other stalls. It can get very hot during the summer months and we only have one small fan that doesn't do much. Customers come in with their hands dirty from the fields and we spend a lot of time talking about which seeds work better in different types of soil. We don't use any complicated systems to run the place. Everything is done the old way with paper receipts and cash. Sometimes we have to wait for the trucks to arrive and that can take all day if the roads are blocked. It is a quiet kind of life inside the shop even though the market outside is chaotic. We just focus on keeping the seeds dry and helping the people who come through the door. It’s been our daily life at 25 A for many years and we don’t expect that to change anytime soon.
