About Punjabi Tadka Mess & Tiffin Center – Food & Beverages in Kota
We run this tiffin center out of B-136 in Talwandi. It's mostly about getting food to people who don't have time to cook for themselves. We make basic Punjabi meals every day. It's the kind of food you'd eat at home, nothing too oily or heavy. A lot of students from the nearby coaching centers come to us because they miss home-cooked meals. We pack the tiffins in the morning and again in the evening. The kitchen is always busy with the smell of dal and rotis. It's not a big restaurant with waiters. It's more of a practical setup for daily eating. We use standard ingredients we get from the local market. Sometimes we run out of a certain vegetable if the market didn't have good stock that morning. We try to be on time with the deliveries, but sometimes the traffic in Talwandi makes us a bit late. Our staff is just a few local guys who know how to handle the heat in the kitchen. The place isn't decorated much, just tables and chairs for those who want to eat here instead of taking a tiffin. We've been at B-136 for a while now and most people in the block know us. It’s hard work, especially in the summer, but we keep the stove going. We just make the food and get it out to the customers. It's a simple life. We wash the tiffins ourselves and make sure everything is ready for the next day's rounds.
