Natural Sandstone House

Our yard is located on Road No. 7 in the Rico Industrial Area. It’s a dusty place, but that’s just how it is when you’re dealing with sandstone all day. We’ve got the ground floor unit, G-1, which makes it easier to move the heavy slabs in and out without too much trouble. Most days start early here because the heat gets pretty bad by noon. We spend a lot of time just moving stones around and making sure everything is where it should be. The industrial area is always loud with trucks and machines, so you get used to shouting over the noise to get things done. We aren't doing anything fancy here. It’s mostly just us, the stone, and the tools we use to get them ready. People come by looking for specific types of sandstone, and we just show them what we have piled up in the back. Sometimes a shipment comes in late and we have to stay after dark to get it unloaded. It’s hard work on the back and hands, but we’ve been doing it long enough that we don’t think about it much anymore. The office part of the unit is small and mostly filled with samples and invoices. We don’t spend much time sitting down anyway. It’s a straightforward business and we just focus on getting the stone out to whoever needs it. There are always stacks of stone waiting to be moved or sorted out.
