We've been at Plot No. 332 for a while now. Most people know the Janakdeep Complex nearby, so finding us on Kotri Road isn't too hard. Gumanpura is where we stay busy with all the different stones coming in and out. It's dusty work, and the yard gets crowded, but that is just how it goes in this trade. We spend our days moving slabs and talking to folks who need materials for their building projects. Some days are longer than others, especially when a big order needs to go out by the next morning. Sometimes the trucks arrive late because of the traffic on Kotri Road and we have to stay a bit longer to get everything unloaded and tucked away in the right spot. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting and organizing things so we can find them later, but we keep things moving as much as we can. Dealing with stone is heavy business. You get used to the grit under your fingernails. We don’t have a fancy office or anything like that. It’s just the yard and the stone. People stop by, look at what we have in stock, and we figure out the logistics. Most of the time, we are just keeping track of the inventory and making sure the right pieces go to the right job sites. It gets hot out here during the day, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early if possible. We’re just local people doing a job on Kotri Road.
