Shri Computers

Up here in Alake, Mangalore, you’ll find us at Shri Computers. We are located right on Old Gokharnath Temple Road, specifically near Chandra Shekhar Canara Electronics. It’s a nice part of town, though it gets incredibly humid during the summer months. Our shop is where people bring their laptops when they won't turn on or when the screen goes dark for no reason. We’ve got parts scattered around and tools on the benches because there’s always something being pulled apart or put back together. It’s quiet work mostly, focusing on small circuits and software issues that give people headaches. We see a lot of students from around Mangalore who need their machines fixed for classes, and also older folks who are just trying to get their internet working right. The temple is just down the road, so we get a lot of foot traffic passing by our door. We aren't a big showroom with flashy lights; it’s more of a workspace where the focus is on the hardware itself. Sometimes we’re waiting on parts to arrive from elsewhere, which can be a bit of a wait, but we do what we can. The air conditioner in the shop is usually running full blast to keep the equipment from overheating. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us who know our way around a motherboard, trying to keep the neighborhood connected.
