The Oxford School

The Oxford School has been a part of the Mylapure area for a good while now. We are located right by the Mylapure Post Office in Umayanalloor, which makes it easy for most folks to find us without too much trouble. The building itself is nothing out of the ordinary, just a solid place where we get the work done every day. You will usually see a bunch of bicycles parked out front and parents hanging around the gate near Palathara when it is time to pick up the kids. It can get a bit hectic in the mornings when everyone is trying to get inside at once, especially on those days when the weather isn’t cooperating. We have a handful of classrooms and a small area where the children can run around during their break. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint one of these days, but for now, they are covered in drawings and charts. Most of us who work here live just a short walk away in Thazhuthala or the surrounding spots, so we know the families pretty well. We don’t go in for anything too fancy or high-tech; we just stick to the basics of teaching and making sure the day goes smoothly. It’s a loud, busy place during the week, but that is just how a school should be. We just focus on the kids and their lessons, plain and simple.
