Siddhartha Central School

Siddhartha Central School is located in Cherunmangad, which is part of the Puthur area in Kollam. It’s a bit away from the main city noise, which is nice for the students. We have the classes spread out across the building. It’s a central school, so we follow that specific curriculum, but otherwise, it’s a very local feel. The trees around the yard provide some shade during the hot afternoons. We have a bunch of teachers who live nearby and walk to work. Every morning, the school buses pull in and the place wakes up. We have a small library with a few rows of books that the kids use for their assignments. The playground is just a flat patch of ground where they play football or run around. We don't have a lot of flashy equipment or digital boards. Most of the furniture is stuff we've had for years. It’s sturdy and does the job. Parents come in for meetings and we talk about how the kids are doing in their tests. It’s very ordinary and down to earth. We have a small staff room where we drink tea and talk about the weekly schedule. There’s always some maintenance to do, like painting a wall or fixing a broken door. We just take it day by day. The kids seem happy enough, and that’s what really matters most to us at the end of our shifts.
