Voltas Limited

Our little corner of Kolkata is over in Garia Place, inside the Sonar Tari Apartment building. We are in Flat B/1/2, which is easy enough to find once you get inside the complex gates. It is a busy area outside, but once you step into our office, things usually quiet down a little bit. We work under the Voltas Limited name here, focusing on the day-to-day needs of the people living in this part of the city. The office isn't anything you would see in a glossy magazine. It has that lived-in feel with stacks of old papers and ledgers sitting on the shelves. We have a couple of ceiling fans that have to work overtime because the Kolkata humidity is no joke for most of the year. Most of us have been working in this building for a long time, so we know the local streets and the back alleys pretty well. There is a small tea stall not far from the entrance where we usually grab a quick break when things get stressful. We do not use much fancy talk or complicated lingo here. We just listen to what people need and try our best to sort it out. Sometimes the internet connection is a bit slow or the monsoon rain makes everything feel damp, but we just keep at it. It is a modest space, but it serves our purpose well. We like being part of the Garia community.
