Binode Engg. Mechanical Works

You can find us at Todi Chambers, right on the fifth floor of 2, Lal Bazaar Street. It’s an engineering workshop atmosphere, even in the office part of things. We deal with mechanical works, so there are always blueprints or technical drawings spread out on the desks. Usually, there's a faint smell of grease or metal that follows us up from the work floor. The fifth floor is quite a climb if the lift is being repaired again, which happens more often than we’d like. We spend our time figuring out how to fix broken parts or designing new components for machines that have seen better days. It’s practical, hands-on stuff that requires a lot of patience. We aren't big on corporate meetings or fancy presentations; we’d rather just show someone a drawing and explain how it’s going to work. The tea here is always strong and we usually have the radio playing quietly in the background while we work. Lal Bazaar Street is a busy area, so there’s always something happening outside to distract us for a minute. We’ve got a small team of mechanics and engineers who have been with us for years, so we’re more like a family than just coworkers. It’s hard work and the hours can be long when a big job comes in, but we get it done. No frills, just mechanical engineering as it should be.
