Twinkle Telekom sits right on the corner of Rash Behari Avenue and Sarat Bose Road. The address is 182A, and it’s a spot that’s almost always busy because of where it’s located. You can hear the trams and the honking of cars all day long from inside the shop. We’ve been here long enough that the noise just blends into the background for us. The shop itself is packed with mobile phones and every kind of accessory you could think of. We have shelves reaching up to the ceiling because space is tight in this part of the city. People come in from the street looking for a quick fix for a cracked screen or a new charger because they left theirs at home. We try to keep a bit of everything so we don't have to turn anyone away. It’s not a fancy showroom with carpets and soft music. It’s a real working shop where things get dusty and the phone is always ringing. We spend a lot of time talking to customers, explaining why their battery isn't holding a charge or helping them pick out a case that actually fits. Sarat Bose Road has a lot of history, and being part of the daily life here is something we appreciate. It’s a lot of standing on our feet and dealing with the humidity, but that’s the reality of running a shop in this neighborhood. We just take it day by day.
