Simran Telekom H O

Simran Telekom H O is tucked away on the first floor of building 44 on Sitaram Ghosh Street. It is right there on Raja Ram Mohan Roy Sarani, which is always a hive of activity. You have to walk up the stairs to find us, and sometimes the hallway is a bit dim, but once you’re inside, it’s all business. We handle a lot of the administrative side of things for the telecom work from this head office. There are stacks of paperwork and ledgers because we still like keeping track of things properly. The fans are usually running at full speed because it gets quite warm in this part of town during the afternoons. It’s not a big corporate headquarters with glass walls; it’s more of a traditional Kolkata office space with a lot of character. We’ve got phones ringing quite a bit and people coming in to sort out their connections or billing issues. Sitaram Ghosh Street has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a part of it over the years. We know the tea seller downstairs pretty well by now. It’s a busy life, but we like the location because it’s so central. Dealing with telecom means things are always changing, so there is never really a quiet day. We just keep our heads down and get through the work that needs doing.
