Basanti Stores is right here at 130, D H Road in Parnasri Palli. It’s been our home for a long time. The shop isn't very big, but we’ve got it packed with everything we need to keep things running. D H Road is always humming with activity, and being in Parnasri Palli means we see a lot of people passing by. We aren't part of any big group or chain. It’s just a local shop run by local people. We start the day by getting everything ready and opening the shutters. Sometimes it’s quiet, other times everyone seems to come in at once. We don't have any fancy decorations or a big polished storefront. It’s just a practical space. We’ve known some of our customers for years, since they were kids. That’s the nice thing about staying in one place like this. We don’t spend much time on the computer or doing fancy paperwork. Most of our time is spent talking to the people who walk in. It’s a simple business. We try to keep the shelves stocked and the floor clean, though the dust from the road always finds its way in. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in town. We just want to be Basanti Stores at address 130. It’s what we know and what we’ve always done. If you're in the neighborhood, you'll find us there, just like always.
