Tushi Dresses

Our place, Tushi Dresses, is at 2A GC Avenue. If you know Kolkata, you know GC Avenue is a very busy spot. It’s right in the middle of everything. The building we are in has that old Kolkata feel to it. We deal with all sorts of dresses and materials here. It’s usually a bit of a squeeze because we have so much stock piled up. We don't have a big staff, so we all end up doing a bit of everything. One minute I’m answering a call, and the next I’m helping move boxes. The dust from the street comes in through the windows, so we are always dusting things off. It is a bit loud with all the buses and taxis outside, but you stop noticing it after an hour. We aren't fancy people. We wear comfortable clothes and just get to work. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment comes in. There’s a tea stall just around the corner that we visit way too often. It’s just how we operate. We don't have any big mission statements written on the walls. We just want to sell dresses that people like and can afford. Some days are better than others, but that’s just how any business goes. We like being in this part of the city because everything is close by. It’s a bit messy and loud, but it’s ours and we wouldn't change it.
