Basil

We set up Basil in New Alipore, specifically over at P 71, Blk D in Chowdhury Bhawan. It’s a quiet enough spot, which suits us just fine. Most days start early here because there's always prep work to get through. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in town, just a reliable one for the folks living nearby. The kitchen is where most of the life happens. It’s not always perfectly quiet; there’s usually a lot of noise from pans and people talking. We focus on getting the food right without making a big fuss about it. New Alipore is a nice area, and we’ve gotten to know the regulars who stop by. We didn't start with some grand plan, just a desire to run a decent kitchen in our own neighborhood. Sometimes the weather makes things slow, other times it's a mad rush, but that's just how it goes. We handle the cooking ourselves and keep an eye on everything. It’s a small team, more like a family really. We've had some long nights making sure everything is ready for the next morning. It’s honest work. If you come by Chowdhury Bhawan, you’ll find us just doing what we do every day. No frills, no complicated stuff. Just us, the food, and the people who come in to eat. It feels good to have a place that belongs to the local streets. We're just glad to be here.
