Our office is at P-549 Lake Road, which is a very nice part of the city to be in. It is a bit quieter than the main thoroughfares, though you still get the sound of the traffic and the birds in the trees nearby. Tuscon Engineers has been in this building for a long while now. The rooms are a bit cramped because we have so many files and old blueprints stacked up in every available corner. We like the location because we can walk down to the lake when we need to clear our heads after staring at technical drawings all day. The building is one of those older ones with thick walls, so it stays relatively cool even when the Kolkata sun is beating down outside. We have a small pantry where we make our own coffee and tea. It is a small team, so we all know each other’s business and how everyone likes their work done. There is not any corporate polish here; the floor is a bit scuffed and the desks do not really match. We just focus on the engineering side of things and try to keep things moving without making a big deal out of it. Most of our days are spent on the phone or working through calculations on yellow pads of paper. It is a steady rhythm that we have gotten used to over the years. We just show up, do the work, and head home when the sun goes down.
