Amit Engg. Works

Amit Engg. Works is tucked away at 99/5/6 Ballygunge Place. It's an old part of the city, and our workshop fits right in. We’ve been doing engineering and repair work here for quite some time now. The street is narrow, so getting big parts in and out is always a bit of a challenge, but we’ve gotten good at it. Inside, it’s mostly metal scraps, grease, and heavy tools. We deal with various mechanical parts that need fixing or turning on the lathe. It's a dirty job, your hands are always black with oil by lunchtime. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. If you come by, you just walk into the shop and talk to whoever isn't currently under a machine. We take on small jobs and some bigger ones too, depending on what the local businesses need. Ballygunge Place is a nice area, even if it gets a bit crowded. We like the rhythm of the work here. The sound of hammers and drills is constant. We don't talk much while working because of the noise, but we know what needs to be done. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We just focus on getting the machinery back in working order so our customers can get back to their own work. The rain sometimes leaks through the old roof, but we just move the machines and keep going as best we can.
