Our place, Tmt Engg.Pvt.Ltd., is located at 5/1, Beni Master Lane in the Behala area of Kolkata. If you know Behala, you know the lanes can be a bit tricky to navigate. Our lane is one of those narrow ones where everyone knows everyone who lives there. The building is an older structure, typical for this part of the city. We have our engineering equipment set up inside. It’s often a bit loud because of the machines and the work we do, but the neighbors don't seem to mind much as they are used to the noise by now. We have been in this spot for quite some time. The pin code here is 700 061. Inside, it’s mostly just workshop space and a small corner for our accounts and files. We don't have any polished floors or air-conditioned lobbies. It’s a real working environment with grease on the floors and tools on the benches. We spend our days mostly fixing things and putting parts together. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty, and the heat in Kolkata during the summer months doesn't help much, but we keep the fans going and get on with it. It’s a very local operation. We usually close up shop as the sun goes down because the lane gets pretty dark at night. It is just a standard engineering shop doing what needs to be done every day in this corner of Behala. We like the simple routine of it.
