The Hooghly Mills Co. Ltd. is found at 10, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sarani, which many people still call Clive Row. We are up on the 3rd floor. This area is historic, and the building reflects that with its high ceilings and thick walls. It’s a busy part of the city, especially during the middle of the day when everyone is out on the street. Working on the 3rd floor of this building means we see a lot of people coming and going from the other offices nearby. Our space is filled with old wooden furniture and rows of filing cabinets that have been there for years. It’s a big room, and it often feels a bit cold in the winter and quite warm in the summer despite the fans. We don't have a modern reception desk or a waiting lounge with magazines. If you come to see us, you’ll just see us working at our desks. There’s a lot of history in a place like Clive Row, and you can feel it in the stairs and the hallways. We spend our time managing the daily operations, which involves a lot of reading and signing papers. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s a productive one. We’ve been at 10, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sarani for a long time, and the routine hasn't changed much. It’s just how we do things at Hooghly Mills.
