Acharya Suppliers

Acharya Suppliers is located at 10B, Halwasiya Road. The street is usually lined with shops and people selling things on the pavement, so it can be a bit of a squeeze to get through to our entrance. Our place is more of a warehouse and a small office combined into one. We have high ceilings and shelves that go all the way up, filled with all sorts of supplies that we sell to local businesses. It’s often a bit dark inside because the building is old and doesn't have many windows, but we have plenty of tube lights to see what we are doing. We spend our time counting stock and writing out bills for the people who come in. There isn't much in the way of air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that wobbles a bit when it's on high. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the main ledger. Most of our customers have been coming to us for years, so we spend as much time chatting about the weather or the local news as we do talking about business. It’s a very traditional way of working. We don't have a computerized system for everything yet; we still rely a lot on memory and handwritten notes. The floor is concrete and has seen better days, but it’s sturdy. It’s just a normal, busy shop on Halwasiya Road where we try to keep the shelves full and the customers happy.
