It is right in the middle of a very busy part of the city where everyone seems to be in a rush to get somewhere. The building is easy to find if you know the sector layout, which is all blocks and numbers. Inside, it is mostly rows of cubicles and the sound of people typing on their keyboards all at once. We spend most of the day staring at screens and sitting in chairs that are reasonably comfortable. The cafeteria is where most of us end up during the lunch break, talking about the traffic or the weather. Kolkata gets very humid, so the air conditioning is always running at full blast, making some people wear sweaters even in the summer. Outside, the streets are lined with yellow taxis and people selling snacks. It is a very routine kind of life here. We come in, do the work assigned to us, and then fight the evening crowd to get back to the metro or the bus stop. It is just another day at the office.
