We are over here at 4/1A on B. N. Sarani in Barrackpore. Most people know the Nona Chandan Pukur post office, and we aren't far from there. It is a busy spot in Kolkata. The traffic outside can get a bit loud during the afternoons when the school buses go past. We have been in this building for a while now. The stairs are a bit narrow but it works for us. Usually, we start early before the sun gets too hot. There is a small tea stall just down the road where everyone goes for a break. It is not a fancy setup. The walls inside could probably use a fresh coat of paint if we ever got around to it. We just keep our desks organized and get on with the day. Sometimes the rain hits the windows pretty hard during monsoon. You can hear the trains from the station nearby if it is quiet enough. We see the same faces every day walking to the post office. It feels like a very normal part of the neighborhood. Being at Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd. here in this part of town means we are close to everything we need. Most of us take the rickshaws from the main crossing to get here. It is just a regular office life with files and computers. We try to keep things simple and avoid the clutter.
