Tastebuds

Tastebuds is over at 9A, Chowringhee Terrace. We are right next to Gool Mandir, which makes it easy for folks to find us. It’s a busy little spot. We spend most of our mornings getting the ingredients fresh from the market. There's always something to chop or stir. We started this because we liked cooking, and it just grew from there. The kitchen can get pretty hot in the afternoons, but that’s just part of the job. We do a lot of local orders for people living nearby. Sometimes the traffic on the terrace is a bit much, but we make it work. We aren't into fancy talk or big advertisements. Most people hear about us from their neighbors or friends. We just focus on the food we’re making today. If the rice is good and the spices are right, we’re happy. We’ve seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood over the years. Some shops have gone, others have come. But we’re still here, doing our thing by the temple. It’s a family-run kind of thing, really. Everyone chips in when it gets busy. We don’t have any big secrets. Just salt, oil, and time. We like being part of the community here at Chowringhee Terrace. It feels like home to us, and we hope that shows in the meals we send out. It's not about being the most famous place, just about making a decent plate of food.
